How to Have Fun This Holiday Season and Still Grow Your Business | KaylaRoof.com

Oh man. I LOVE this time of year.

Christmas parties, kids programs, cooking exchanges, and decorating!

But I often find it hard to squeeze in everything I need to do at home, in my business AND enjoy the holiday fun.

Sometimes it feels like I have to make difficult choices.

Scheduling social media vs. writing out my Christmas cards.

Designing my 2018 business plan vs. baking cookies for the cookie exchange.

Have you found yourself in the same boat?

Maybe you have a new business idea but you’ve been finding yourself short on time.

Today, I want to offer you a bit of encouragement during this time of year.

The reality is that it doesn’t have to be a WORK vs. HOLIDAY FUN!!

I’m going to share with you my plan for putting the fun back into this month.

First.

Write down your top 5 HOLIDAY priorities. What do you care most about this holiday season?  What are those non-negotiables you absolutely want to do with your family this year? What kind of traditions do you want to create? What makes this time of year so special for you?

For example:

  1. Decorate the tree with the kids.
  2. Attend the kids Christmas program at 11am on Wednesday.
  3. Make Christmas cookies with the boys and give to the neighbors.
  4. Send out Holiday cards to all of our friends and family
  5. Attend the Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) Holiday Party

So these are my top 5 non-negotiables. What I absolutely WANT TO DO this holiday season. Everything else is secondary.

Trust me, I realize there are A LOT MORE activities on your holiday list. I still want to watch Love Actually with hubby, go to the live nativity at church and go to my husbands Christmas party. BUT, I’ve got my top 5 and I’m sticking with them. Everything else is just icing on the Christmas cookies.

THEN, there’s work, laundry, 2018 planning, clients, talking to friends etc…

Trying to find the time to get things DONE this time of year can get tough.

There is absolutely a way to get it all in there.

We all have 24 hours in a day, it just takes some re-prioritizing this month to get it done.

This week, find your power hours.

Your power hour is going to be an hour of time dedicated to a specific task you need to accomplish.

Schedule it.

During this time, put your phone away, close your browsers and definitely don’t log into any social media platforms for an entire hour.

Get the headphones, shut the door, and decrease any distractions.

Write down what you want to accomplish in that hour and DO IT!

Search for power hours in your schedule this week and make yourself hunker down and finish those tasks.

You. Can. Do. It.

NOW, make your list. What do you want to get done this week?

1.

2.

3.

FIND YOUR POWER HOURS, schedule them in and GETTER’ DONE!

You’ve got this friend.

Have an amazing Holiday season and I’ll talk to you soon.

Here’s to stressing less, having fun, and enjoying the holiday season.

Anchored in your success,
